Description

Symptom

1. Seeing message: *** Uplink FRU module hardware authentication failed. *** and the module fails to come online. 2. Interface from 4x1G-FRU do not pass traffic, transmit counter does not change.

Conditions

1. C9300 with 8x10G C9300-NM-8X uplink modules manufactured with an alternate security processor device 2. 4x1G uplink module, after swap with 2x40G uplink module, the port on 4x1G uplink does not transmit any packet.

Workaround

1. A software fix is incorporated into 16.9.1, 16.6.4 and later. If a software upgrade is not feasible, the module should be RMA'd. 2. Reboot the system.
