Kernel parameters set on-the-fly using the fw ctl set int command revert to their original configuration.;In VSX environments, some Virtual Systems retain the configuration, while others revert.;The issue occurs even though the parameter is configured permanently in $FWDIR/boot/modules/fwkern.conf ;Parameters set in $FWDIR/boot/modules/fwkern.conf are missing from $FWDIR/boot/modules/copy_fwkern.conf
Configuring kernel parameters on-the-fly using the fw ctl set int command are intended for short‑term troubleshooting only. A reboot is required to ensure that kernel parameter changes are properly applied and remain persistent. During system boot, the system copies kernel parameter values from fwkern.conf to copy_fwkern.conf . When the fwk process starts, it loads the kernel parameters from the copy_fwkern.conf file. If the fwk process requires recovery, it discards all parameters set on-the-fly and reloads the parameters from copy_fwkern.conf . As a result, all parameters configured on‑the‑fly are lost.
