The Firebox M290 and M390 cannot boot after the installation of the 8 x 1Gb Copper Module (WG9022).
To resolve the issue, you must download and install the attached update file on the Firebox. You can use the Web UI or Policy Manager to install the update the same way as you would install an update of the Fireware operating system.Note: To apply this update, you must first upgrade your M290 or M390 device to Fireware v12.9 or higher. Identify Your Hardware Revision This update applies to the following Firebox hardware revisions: Firebox M290: Rev A and B (Rev C and higher already includes this update)Firebox M390: Rev A, B, C, and D (Rev E and higher already includes this update) The hardware revision appears on the small sticker to the right of the WatchGuard serial number sticker on the rear of the appliance. Remove the Module Disconnect the power cable from the Firebox.Disconnect all network cables from the installed interface module.Loosen the two screws on the installed interface module.Slide the interface module out of the slot.Place the removed interface module on an antistatic surface Upgrade the Firebox to Fireware v12.9 You must upgrade your M290 or M390 Firebox to Fireware v12.9 or higher before you can install the update file.To download and install Fireware v12.9, go to software.watchguard.com. Download the Install the Update File Download and install the update file for your specific hardware model: M290-M290.dualuboot-dlM390-M390.dualuboot-dl To install the update: Download the file to a location on your computer. Use Fireware Web UI or Policy Manager to install the update, as described below.After the upgrade completes, restart the Firebox. To Install the Update from Fireware Web UI Log in to Fireware Web UI as a user with administrative privileges.Select System > Upgrade OS.Click Browse or Choose File to select the file from the directory where you saved the file.Click Upgrade. To Install the Update from Policy Manager In Policy Manager, select File > Upgrade. The Upgrade dialog box appears.Type the configuration passphrase. Click OK. The default path to the upgrade image appears.Click Browse. The update file you saved does not appear in the list of files because the .uboot-dl file extension is not one you can select from the Files of Type drop-down list. In the File name text box, type the file name: M290-M290.dualuboot-dl or M390-M390.dualuboot-dl.Click Open to use the selected path and file name.Click OK.Click Yes to start the upgrade.After the upgrade completes, restart the Firebox. Install the Interface Module Disconnect the power cable from the Firebox.Loosen the two captive screws on the slot cover.Remove the slot cover to expose the interface slot.Insert the interface module into the slot, and push it firmly into place.Tighten the two captive screws on the interface module to attach the interface to the Firebox.Reconnect the power cables to the Firebox. The Firebox starts automatically. When the Firebox starts, Fireware automatically detects all installed interfaces.
