Issue
After you use Policy Manager v12.4 to configure a Firebox with an external VLAN interface, the Firebox might not correctly assign the default gateway for that external VLAN interface. If this occurs, the Firebox fails to route outbound traffic through that interface.
Workaround/Solution
To temporarily resolve the issue:
1. Connect to the Firebox with Fireware Web UI.
2. Select Network > Interfaces.
3. On the Interface Configuration page, locate a network interface that is set to Disabled. If no disabled interface is available, select an interface that can temporarily lose its connection without negatively affecting your network.
4. Change the type for that network interface to External.
5. From the Configuration Mode drop-down list, select DHCP.
6. Save the configuration change to the Firebox.
After you make this change, the Firebox should assign a default gateway to external VLAN interfaces.
Once you resolve the issue, remember to revert changes you made to your interface configuration as a workaround for this issue.
