Symptoms
An error message halts provisioning, machines provide one of the following error messages:
AGENT_CUSTOMIZATION_FAULT - Internal template vm-XX customization failed. Failed To Obtain Valid IP Address. Address assigned (X.X.X.X). Check DHCP server connectivity.
AGENT_CUSTOMIZATION_FAULT - InternalTemplate vm-XXXX customization failed. Failed To Obtain Valid IP Address. No valid network adapters found on vm.
AGENT_CUSTOMIZATION_FAULT - InternalTemplate vm-XXXX customization failed. Failed To Obtain Valid IP Address. Some adapters were disconnected.
Purpose
To highlight a potential error response when customizing Horizon Instant Clones.
Cause
Invalid IP assignments can have a multitude of causes.
Resolution
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Server Connectivity:
Check the network settings of the Horizon Agent Machine to ensure that it is configured to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server.Check the connectivity between the VM and the DHCP server. Ensure that there are no firewall or network configuration issues that are preventing communication between the two.Verify that the DHCP server is functioning properly and that it is configured to assign IP addresses to VMs.

Ensure your image is prepared following the best practices outlined in Horizon View Best Practices: Parent Image Creation and Maintenance.
