Overview
The Workspace ONE Telecom add-on will reach end of availability (EOA) at the end of July 2022.
Customer Impact
Workspace ONE has two levels of telecom management features: Basic and Advanced.
Basic Telecom
Allows sampling data usage per day, summed up to a monthly totalIncludes roaming usageDashboard and reporting on the above usage
Advanced Telecom
All Basic Telecom capabilitiesDashboard customizationCreation of any number of custom plans which can reset on any day of the monthCompliance actions to action based off the data usage
Advanced Telecom features are available through the Workspace ONE Telecom add-on (reaching EOA), Workspace ONE Advanced, and Workspace ONE Enterprise.
VMware has seen significant reductions in adoption and usage of telecom management features. Additionally, changes to mobile operating systems have caused limitations to telecom capabilities. As a result, the Workspace ONE Telecom add-on no longer offers the value to our customers to warrant a standalone offering.
Existing Workspace ONE Telecom customers may continue to use the Advanced Telecom features through the end of their existing contracts.
Solution
All existing Workspace ONE Standard customers that require Advanced Telecom capabilities are advised to move to Workspace ONE Advanced or Workspace ONE Enterprise.
