Symptoms
Important: This article is specific to Horizon 7.5.2, 7.5.3, 7.5.4, 7.10.2, 7.10.3 and Horizon 7.12 onwards only with Windows10 2004 and Windows 10 20H2 as Remote Desktop OS
Upon launching the Windows desktop or app, the logon UI displays error message: 'an invalid parameter was passed to a service or function'.Also the VMware View log file on the View Agent contains the following warning message:
[LogonUI] cred::ReportResult(): Reported authentication failure. Status=0xC000000D (WinErr=87) and subStatus=0x00000000 (WinErr=0).
Status : The parameter is incorrect.
subStatus : The operation completed successfully
Cause
There is a known limitation for Windows 10 version 2004 as Remote Desktop. SSO might fail when using Smartcard, True SSO or other Certificate based Single Sign On to Windows Desktop or App.
Resolution
Microsoft has released an update (KB4598291) which contains fix for the issue.
