Resolution
Windows 8.1 desktop and tablet devices in AirWatch will reach End of General Support on January 16, 2019. On this date, AirWatch will no longer guarantee full support for any Windows 8.1 device currently enrolled, or new devices attempting to enroll in AirWatch environments. It is possible that existing Windows 8.1 devices may become unenrolled, lose connectivity to the AirWatch console, or stop checking in after upgrading to an AirWatch version released after the End of General Support date. Additionally, the AirWatch Agent will no longer receive updates or fixes for Windows 8.1 issues after this date.
Microsoft has announced the end of mainstream support for Windows 8.1 as of January 9, 2018. To learn more about the announcement, please visit the Microsoft Support Lifecycle page.
Implications for Customers
All customers that have any Windows 8.1 devices enrolled in their environment should work to migrate these users to supported device types prior to this end of general support date.
