Cause
This issue occurs because of backward compatibility of TLS with vSphere 5.5U3.
Resolution
This issue is resolved in ESXi 5.5 Update 3e or later, available at VMware Patch Downloads. For more information on downloading patch, see How to download patches in Customer Connect (1021623).
To work around this issue if you do not want to upgrade:
Modify one of these two configuration files on the VDDK proxy:
The /etc/vmware/config or CommonAppDataFolder\config.ini file sets the entire proxy. The $USER/.vmware/config or %USERNAME%\AppData\config.ini file sets only one user.
Add this line to the appropriate configuration file: tls.protocols=tls1.0,tls1.1,tls1.2
If you are connected to the affected VDP appliance:
Add the line mentioned in step 2 to /etc/vmware/config file. Alternatively, you can add the line to /usr/local/avamarclient/var/vddkconfig.ini file.Note: If the issue persists, add the line to both the files.
