Symptoms
Assigning AppStack into VDI fails.You see an error similar to: “Access is Denied” In AppVolume agent logs, you see entries similar to: SnapCreateRegistryKey: failed to create "\REGISTRY\MACHINE\COMPONENTS" (error 0xC000000D)
Cause
By default, AppStacks and Writeable Volumes are attached to the virtual machine as a SCSI device. Windows Removable Storage Access policy threats the SCSI devices as removable storage.If Group Policies or Local Computer Policies are configured to restrict read and write access to the removable devices, App Volumes will fail.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, disable the Group Policy or Local Computer setting that is restricting read and write access on removable devices.
To configure this setting, follow the steps below:
Open a Group Policy Objects (GPO) editor or Local Computer Policy editor.Navigate to Administrative Templates > System > Removable Storage AccessOpen the All Removable Storage classes: Deny all access setting and set as Not Configured or Disabled.
