Symptoms
ESXi hosts do not shutdown when commanded to by PowerChute network shutdown. In the PowerChute log, you see errors similar to:[11.05.2012, 17:45:12]debug: Login by vi-fastpass to: <ESXi Host>[11.05.2012, 17:45:12]debug: Error: Unable to login to host: "<ESXi Host>"! Host may not be accessible over the network or is not managed by VMA
Resolution
This is a known issue affecting VMware vSphere Management Assistant 5.0 . There are two workarounds for this issue: Downgrade the VMware vSphere Management Assistant to 5.0.0. Download and install the shutdown script from the APC Support Site.Note: The preceding link was correct as of October 25, 2012.
