This issue occurs if the VMware vSphere Profile Driven Storage component is not installed properly.
To resolve this issue, reinstall the VMware vSphere Profile Driven Storage component. To reinstall the VMware vSphere Profile Driven Storage component: Close all open instances of vSphere Client connected to vCenter Server. Launch the vCenter Server installation executable and select the vCenter Server installation option. The installation automatically installs the missing VMware vSphere Profile Driven Storage component and completes the installation.Note: This should install only the missing component for the Profile Driven Storage service and not the entire vCenter Server. Alternatively, you can use the Change feature in Programs and Features. To use the Change feature: Click Start > Control Panel. Click Programs and Features. From the list of installed software, right-click VMware vCenter Server and click Change. This performs a repair installation and installs the missing VMware vSphere Profile Driven Storage component.
