Details
A virtual machine in the virtual switch loses network connectivity even though all other virtual machines on the same virtual switch can access the network Randomly, a Windows Server 2003-based virtual server loses network connectivity intermittently. During the Guest OS startup process, the server is "pingable" for a short period of time and stops working completely at a random. Within the virtual machine, the Event Viewer shows event ID 4292 and shows the error:The IPSec driver has entered Block mode. IPSec will discard all inbound and outbound TCP/IP network traffic that is not permitted by boot-time IPSec Policy exemptions.
Solution
IPSec driver has entered Block mode or secure Mode or Stopped State or corrupted or if it is misconfigured, all network traffic is blocked by default. You must disable the IPSec service and reboot the virtual machine. If disabling IPsec and rebooting does not resolve this issue or if you require IPsec, contact Microsoft for further troubleshooting support.
