Purpose
This article documents the upgrade path to be taken to get to the most recent version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365.
Solution
Consider the following when planning for upgrade:
All backup jobs are stopped during the upgrade process.
After the upgrade, backup jobs settings and global configuration options (e.g., notifications and file exclusions) will be preserved.
Additional considerations are listed in the product User Guide.
After the upgrade, Repositories, Jobs, and Proxy Servers will be marked as Out of Date and require manual interaction to upgrade.
Veeam Explorers must be upgraded along with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365.
