Challenge

This article describes how to configure Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows email notifications for Gmail account.

Solution

Follow the steps below to configure email notification in a desirable way.1. Open Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows GUI and go to the ‘Setting’ tab.2. Tick the ‘Enable email notifications’ check box and click on the ‘Configure and test’ link.3. Fill all the fields and type your email account with its password.4.Click on ‘Show SMTP settings’ once you fill all the info.Use Gmail SMTP connection details to set it up.SMTP server DNS name or IP address – smtp.gmail.com    Port – 587Username – your Gmail user name like ‘your_email_address@gmail.com’Ensure that the ‘Use secure connection (SSL/TLS)’ checkbox is checked.
