Description:

Challenge

When installing the nworks Report Pack for HP Reporter on Windows 2008 x64, you may get the following error: OpenView Reporter or Reporter Lite not found! while Reporter is actually installed and running.

Cause

This happens because the nworks installer is unable to locate the registry key indicating HP Reporter version. When the check fails, the installation is aborted.

Solution

Use the registry editor to check if  the following registry keys are present: 32-bit key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\The Reporter\CurrentVersion   64-bit key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hewlett-Packard\The Reporter\CurrentVersion If you find that the 32-bit key does not exist, copy it from the 64-bit thread and re-run the installation of the nworks Report Pack.
