Symptoms
When you look in the sys.dm_os_wait_stats view or other dynamic management views (DMVs) in SQL Server 2017 and Microsoft SQL Server 2016, you may find the CXPACKET wait type. However, when you capture the execution plan (showplan XML) for queries, you find that the CXPACKET wait isn't included.
