Description

Symptoms

When user configures Trunks on interfaces and LACP is configured as passive mode with lacp-timeout as short for that trunk, traffic does not pass through a trunk interface and /var/log/ltm contains messages such as: lacpd[6636]: 01160011:6: Link 2.2 Actor Out of Sync lacpd[6636]: 01160012:6: Link 2.2 Partner Out of Sync

Impact

Trunks stays down and does not pass traffic after restart of TMM.

Conditions

-- BIG-IP 2000-/4000-series appliance. -- Interfaces are configured as trunk. -- LACP configured as passive mode for that trunk. -- LACP timeout is configured as short.

Workaround

One of the below: - bigstart restart lacpd. - Reconfigure LACP Passive to Active 'tmsh modify net trunk x lacp-mode active'. - Change the lacp-timeout from 'short' to 'long'.
