Symptoms
When a client device is set up with a static route to self-IP addresses with a gateway pointing to the mgmt IP address of the BIG-IP system, the packets sent to self-IP are answered via the management interface.
This happens regardless of the self-IP allow settings.
Impact
Decreased separation of data plane and management plane in BIG-IP system and inconsistent port lockdown behavior of the BIG-IP self-IP address.
Conditions
Client device is set up with a static route to self-IP address with a gateway pointing to the mgmt IP address of the BIG-IP system.
Workaround
Change the client static route to not overlap the management network of the BIG-IP.
