Symptoms
The Dell B2360d or B2360dn Mono Laser Printer is displaying a Bin Full message and does not print.
Cause
The printer stops printing and shows a Bin Full message even though only a few sheets of paper are in the output bin.
At times, usually in high-humidity environments, paper curls in the output bin. This can trigger a Bin Full prior to placing the rated number of sheets in the output bin. The triggering happens when the curled side of the paper touches the Standard Output Bin Full Sensor. See the sample image below:
(A) - Output Bin Full shown in the Op Panel with only a few sheets
(B) - Side of the sheet touching the Output Bin Full Sensor
Once the printer declares Bin Full, it does not print again until the sheets are removed from the output bin. The printer stops by design in order to prevent pushing sheets onto the floor.
The printer stops printing and shows a "Bin Full" message even though only a few sheets of paper are in the output bin.
Resolution
To prevent the printer to declare Bin Full prematurely, decrease the amount of paper curl by following the suggestions below.
Store paper in a low-humidity environment.Keep the paper sealed in its original packaging and remove it only when you are ready to use it.If the paper stack has been seated in the tray for some time, remove it, flip it over, and then put it back in the tray. Depending on the type of paper, this procedure can reduce the amount of curling.Do not operate the printer where it can be exposed to higher than normal levels of humidity. To avoid the paper being pushed onto the floor, pull or lift the paper output bin extender.
