Symptoms

Either: v9.2.x with Java heap size increased to 2048mb or v18.1.x - which already has Java heap set as 2048mb by default gst starts, no errors, however NMC does not launch (java process may appear then go).

Cause

Larger heap size needs 64-bit Java, it cannot run with 32-bit Java,When both are installed, 32-bit is used. Often, disabling 32-bit Java has no effect, it is still launched using the 32-bit process.

Resolution

Force NMC to only use 64-bit Java: Stop gstEdit gconsole.jnlp in /opt/lgtonmc/web/ on Linux OR C:\Program Files\EMC NetWorker\Management\GST\web on Windows.Add in place of Save the fileStart gstClear Java cache and installed apps (see below)Launch NMC To clear the Java cache:Launch Java control panel, go to General > Settings > Delete Files... > check all 3 boxes then OK
