Symptoms

You can reach the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) through a web browser or NetWorker Runtime Environment (NRE) and download the gconsole.jnlp.You are prompted to log in, but when entering your credentials receive: "Error: There is a problem contacting the server, . Please verify that the server is running." The NMC server's GST service is running.

Cause

The partition NMC is installed on has reached 100% capacity which will corrupt the NMC database. Resolution

There are two available options:(1) Recover: 1. Reclaim/increase space on the NMC partition. 2. Perform recoverpsm: NetWorker: How to Recover the NMC database? (2) Reinstall: If there are no backups of the NMC or a recovery is not possible then the only option is to reinstall the NMC software. NetWorker installation software can be obtained from: https://www.dell.com/support/home/product-support/product/emcreports/drivers NOTE: This will not remove your NetWorker server configuration, only the NMC database (reports, NMC roles, so forth) will be removed. 1. Reclaim/increase space on the NMC partition. 2. Uninstall the NMC software NOTE This will not automatically remove the NMC database/log files. 3. Move the existing NMC installation directory to another location with more space.4. Reinstall the NMC software.5.
