This is a known issue with the pre-1.9 releases of the SSD package in Linux. As per the ticket https://fedorahosted.org/sssd/ticket/1670 this issue has been resolved with the 1.9.x series of SSSD releases.Version 1.8 had been installed on the host at the time of the above issue.Note that the su command always returns zero on the host. For example: $ su postgres -c 'ls lib' ; echo $? 0
Workaround: Stop the SSSD service at which point su was able to return a code successfully. This will allow the installation to complete successfully.
