Symptoms
please note this applies to hosts booting from SAN.host is booting from SAN and pprootdev off was issued to moved PVID from hdiskpower to hdisks. [ALL Powerpath Versions] AIX 7.2 Live upgrade is failing with error messageError message : 1430-095 FAILED: some disks are not supported.
Cause
IBM live update can't support duplicate PVIDs
Resolution
Remove all but one hdisk from the bootlist before performing Live Update.Ensure PVID is only on one hdisk.
