Installing PowerPath for Windows 6.4During a PowerPath for Windows installation, we seen an error similar to below:Setup could not enable MPIO feature of Windows. Contact Dell EMC Customer Support for assistance.When trying to manually install the MPIO feature the following error occurs: The request to add or remove features on the specified server failed.Installation of one or more roles, role services, or features failed.The referenced assembly could not be found. Error: 0x80073701If you check the CBS.log file, you will see in this case below that we are trying to install a Korean version of MPIO. Cause

In this particular case, it was caused by a faulty build of Windows from Dell for PowerEdge servers.

Resolution

If this problem is affecting you and it is a new installation, the best course of action is to reinstall Windows without any language packs. Dell have provided a workaround in the following KBs which can be run and should resolve this issue also.
