Cause
Incorrect settings are set on HDA3xxxx optics when configured for external wrap tests. These will cause the optic to fail the test. Normal data traffic operations correctly configure the optic settings and the optic runs without issue. This specific optic (S/N starting with HDA3XXX) does not support the D port loopback test.
Resolution
Fix: Upgrade to one of the version the issue is fixed in.Fabric OS versions v8.0.2e, 8.1.2b, 8.2.0a and greater will not allow D Port electrical loopback tests to run on any ports that have Long Wave HDA3xxxx optics installed.Other D Port tests will be run on these ports under the referenced versions of FOS. The external loopback tests will be skipped. Important: If you do run D Port external wrap test on one or a few of these optics and you see the above failures occur, you will need to run the below commands to reset the optic(s) before putting it into production. portdisable portcfgdport --disable portenable Workaround: Do not run the D port loopback test
