Cloud tier operation fails. Double-clicking the failed activity in the UI shows the following: avtier Error <42736>: Backup 1D3D096DB489E10:1 failed to mark, reason: Function not supported
The "Cloud tier" option is not enabled in Avamar.
Management Console Server (MCS) UI 1. Log in to the Avamar administrator Java UI 2. From the MCS UI dashboard, select server. 3. Click the Data Domain (DD) to perform cloud-tier operations on. 4. Select Action. 5. Select Edit Data Domain. 6. Select the "Tiering" tab. 7. Ensure that "Enable Cloud Tier" is selected. 8. Select the "Cloud Unit" 9. Click OK. 10. The following displays: Update of Data Domain system initiated This may take some time to complete. Avamar Web User Interface (AUI): 1. Log in to the AUI (https://<avamar-server>/aui) 2. Select System. 3. Click the Data Domain (DD) to perform cloud-tier operations on. 4. Click Edit. 5. Enter the "User Name(DDBoost)" 6. Enter and reenter the passwords in the "Password" and "Verify Password" fields. 7. Click Validate. If the password is correct, but the following error is received: Failed to get Data Domain system information. Clear "Use certificate authentication for REST communication" and click Validate again. 8. Click Next to be taken to the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) settings. 9. Click Next to be taken to the Tiering settings. 10. Ensure that "Enable Cloud Tier" is selected. 11. Select the "Cloud Unit" 12. Click Finish. This may take some time to complete.
