Symptoms
Opening the camera application and getting an error ID 0xA00F4288 or 0xA00F4243. This error shows in the App and shows that another App is using the camera making the camera unusable.

Cause
Windows thinks that another application is using the camera. There may have been an error that caused the camera not to be released. Sometimes, this can happen if the driver update fails or the driver becomes corrupted.
Resolution
Perform the following troubleshooting steps:
Navigate to the Windows camera privacy and security settings: Windows+X → Settings → Privacy&Security → CameraScroll down to the bottom and check if any apps are using the camera.If it shows that any apps are using the camera, then temporarily turn off the setting to Let desktop apps access your camera.

Open the Windows Camera app to confirm the camera is now working.Turn the setting back on to Let desktop apps access your camera.If the issue recurs, install the latest camera driver.
