Symptoms

When start Avamar services with the dpnctl start command, the following errors can occur: admin@avamar:~/>: dpnctl start Identity added: /home/admin/.ssh/admin_key (/home/admin/.ssh/admin_key) dpnctl: INFO: Checking that gsan was shut down cleanly... dpnctl: ERROR: problem running command "ddrmaint cplist >/tmp/-ddrmaint_cplist-4083.stdout 2>/tmp/-ddrmaint_cplist-4083.stderr" - exit status 1 dpnctl: ERROR: Not all DD are running normally. Forbiding to rollback automatically. admin@avamar:~/>: ping test and ssh connection from Avamar to one or more Data Domains works fine.

Cause

The reason for the error is because the filesys was still starting up. ddboost@datadomain# filesys status The filesystem is enabled and starting up. Please wait. ddboost@datadomain#

Resolution

Although ping and ssh work, confirm that the Data Domain file system, nfs, and ddboost are up and running: ddboost@datadomain# filesys status The filesystem is enabled and running. ddboost@datadomain# ddboost@datadomain# nfs status The NFS system is currently active and running. Total number of NFS requests handled = 0.
