Upgrade failing on ESXi host with error "VxRail Platform Service on host is not installed/ready."lcm-web.log: Get platform status from configured host by sn via HostDO service 2022-12-06 13:37:36,723 INFO [LCM] [lcm-node-0] c.d.v.l.d.p.r.d.HostDO [HostDO.java:227] Get platform status false 2022-12-06 13:37:36,723 INFO [LCM] [lcm-node-0] c.v.c.c.v.PlatformServiceDOClient [PlatformServiceDOClient.java:171] Platform Service Ready: false from PlatformServiceDOClient By running below command, the ServiceCacheReady returns 'false' which is not the expected output: curl --capath /var/lib/vmware-marvin/trust/lin -u root https://<esxi-hostname>:9090/rest/ps/private/v1/status {"ServiceCacheReady": false, "BMCConnected": true}
This is due to the ISM being in a transient state.
To resolve this issue, follow the below steps: SSH to the host and run these commands to restart the platform service and iDRAC: /etc/init.d/vxrail-pservice restart /opt/vxrail/tools/ipmitool mc reset cold Reboot the VxRail Manager.From the VxRail Manager, run the command: curl --capath /var/lib/vmware-marvin/trust/lin -u root https://<esxi-hostname>:9090/rest/ps/private/v1/status Check if ServiceCacheReady is now 'true' and if so retry upgrade.
