Symptoms
In performing health checks, alerts regarding "core dumps" being found and a severity based on the number of cores in the last 14 days.
Description: * OK: There are one or less core dumps on this node in the last 14 days.
* WARNING: There are 2 or more core dumps on this node in the last 14 days. Some processes were unexpectedly terminated, please contact Dell EMC Support if you need further assistance.
* CRITICAL: There are 5 or more core dumps on this node in the last 14 days. Some processes were unexpectedly terminated, please contact Dell EMC Support if you need further assistance.
Cause
Health checks parse /var/log/messages on each node, to look for recent core dumps in the last 14 days.Should there be any cores found, it reports on a per node basis with OK, WARNING, or CRITICAL based on the number of cores found.
Resolution
Confirm if there are issues to be resolved. Then gather a full log gather using the "isi_gather_info" command. Open a support ticket for review of the cause of the cores. Reference this KB.
