Symptoms
SRDF Topology is reporting degraded SRDF Groups which are highlighted in yellow.
Analysis:
There are no communication issues, no errors, and Metro is synchronized. All the Metro SRDF groups are online. All the Metro pair states are in active/active or ActiveBias on both sides.
Cause
The output of the below command reports some of the RF ports with a status of "PendOn" which affects the display of SRDF topology.
symcfg list -ra all
Evidence:Snippet from the SMAS log for both arrays reported:
2021-11-15 23:09:26,637 WARN [em.bp.EVENT] (QueueEventMonitor-ConfigChangeEventHandler) EventUtil.calcComponentForEvent(SYMAPI_AEVENT2_INFO_T):Unable to find: SRDF Group [107] on Symmetrix
2021-11-15 23:03:36,848 WARN [em.bp.EVENT] (QueueEventMonitor-ConfigChangeEventHandler) EventUtil.calcComponentForEvent(SYMAPI_AEVENT2_INFO_T):Unable to find: SRDF Group [107] on Symmetrix
Also verify with symsan command:
symsan -sid xxx -dir x -p x list -sanrdf
(the x can be either specific dir/port or use "ALL" for dir and port)Output example:Snippet from the SYMAPI log for both:
"Could not find any online RDF Director connections that the RDF Group can use for the remote call."
Resolution
Ensure cabling, or link is zoned and brought online. Once all the RF ports are online, Unisphere changes the SRDF Group Status from degraded to Good.May want to also consult with PSE lab to check and ensure connectivity using further diagnostic methods on the backend. One situation was resolved by off and on the specific port. Rerun the symsan command after that to confirm. If data returns now with CLI, perform a refresh of Unisphere in the UI console (upper right corner, circular arrow.)
