It was noticed that sequences of install and uninstall operations of the EMAgent performed without a reboot between the uninstall and reinstall could lead to an Inaccessible Boot Device error.
During the installation if a pending reboot is detected the installer prompts for a reboot to be able to continue the setup process. The error below is logged in the EMAgent Installer Logs:
InstallShield 09:56:26: Invoking script function ISPendingFileRenameOperationsKey

1: IS Message 09:56:26: [ProductName] installer has detected pending reboot operation on system. Please retry [ProductName] installation after reboot.
Cause
A code change was introduced to prevent this issue from happening. This code change checks that the registry does not have any pending reboots required by Windows before allowing the EMAgent installation to finish.
Resolution
If this happens, reboot the computer and run the EMAgent installer again.
This behavior change can possibly impact some custom setup scripts and should be considered.
