Symptoms
After a user upgrades a VNX2 block side OE, the installed software will show as 05.33.021.5.256 instead of the expected 05.33.021.5.266.
If the array is already running 05.33.021.5.256, USM does not accept .pbu file and gives the error:
List of packages not installable because they are already installed or under installation
Failing to upgrade to array code 5.33.021.5.266 while using the same file name.
VNX2 block OE code was downloaded over Unisphere Service Manager (USM)
Cause
The USM catalog link for the 5.33.021.5.266 OE was incorrectly using the link for 5.33.021.5.256.USM link was fixed on the morning of February 19, 2021.5.33.021.5.266 was made available on the dell.com/support website on January 28, 2021.All new downloads since February 19 using USM will have the proper OE file downloaded.
Resolution
Downloading the 5.33.021.5.266 OE code directly from the support site downloads the correct file. https://dl.dell.com/downloads/DL102428_VNX2-Utility-Partition-05.33.021.5.266.pbu.pbu
Downloading the file over USM after February 19 will download the proper file.
