Symptoms
Note: Dell has renamed the Dell Mobile Adapter Speakerphone - MH3021P, to the Speakerphone with Multiport Adapter - MH3021P.
An echo or noise is intermittently heard from the Speakerphone with Multiport Adapter - MH3021P.
You are hearing the surround effect. It gives a feeling that you are with the MH3021P in a big room.
Cause
The conditions capable of producing a echo, noise, or surround audio effect.
Environment and Placement
The voice algorithm does not handle it well if the location has reverberation (prolongation of the reflected sound).Placing the MH3021P to a corner or near vertical surfaces, boosts the echo sound from the speaker by a reflection effect that is coupled to the microphone.
User Behaviors
Echo is caused by an acoustic path change. The AEC algorithm has to re-converge again. The Echo is heard during the time of re-converging.Examples are listed below (during the call):
Moving a mouse near the MH3021P or pick up the MH3021P deviceAny objects like a finger, or your palm that is close to the microphone and moves back and forth.Inserting cables into the speakerphone like HDMI, USB-C, and USB-A.
(Figure.1 This setup duplicates the Echo effect.)
(Figure.2 This setup does not exhibit the Echo effect.)
