This would make their removal impossible without specialty tools that are not available to our onsite engineers. Power Supply Unit Removal Pre-removal instructions before removing the power supply unit: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets (for example, the external main power cable). Press the PSU release latch [1] and using the handle, pull the power supply out of the computer [2]. Top Cover Removal Pre-removal instructions before removing the top cover: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Pull up on the Latch at the front of the cover [1] and push the cover towards the rear of the computer [2]. Lift the cover up and away from the computer [3]. Note: The computer shuts down if the cover is removed before shutting down the computer. Bezel Removal Front BezelHard Drive Blanking PlatePower Supply Unit Blanking Plate Pre-removal instructions before removing the front bezel: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Locate [1] and unlock [2] the bezel using the bezel key. Press the release button on the left side of the bezel [3] and swing the bezel towards the right side to unhook that end [4] and remove from the computer. Pre-removal instructions before removing the hard drive blanking plate: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the front bezel. Press the release button on the front of the blanking plate and pull it out of the front of the computer. Note: The hard drive blanking plates are required to ensure proper cooling flow in the computer. Only remove this plate if you are fitting a hard drive in that slot. Pre-removal instructions before removing the power supply unit blanking plate: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Pull the blanking plate out of the rear of the computer. Note: The power supply unit blanking plate is required to ensure proper cooling flow in the computer. Only remove this plate if you are fitting a second power supply unit. Workstation Fans Removal Air ShroudSystem FanSystem Fan Assembly Pre-removal instructions before removing the air shroud: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the Top Cover. If installed remove any full-length PCIe cards or graphics cards from the computer. Lift the shroud up and out of the computer. Pre-removal instructions before removing the system fan: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the Top Cover and air shroud. Press in the release tab and pull the fan out of the assembly bracket. Note: While the fans are hot swappable, opening the system cover causes the computer to shut down. We recommend for proper cooking, that you only swap one fan at one time. Pre-removal instructions before removing the fan assembly: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the Top Cover and air shroud. Lift the blue release latches on either side of the bracket [1]. Grip the latches and pull the assembly up and out of the computer [2]. Memory Removal Pre-removal instructions before removing the memory: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the Top Cover and the Air Shroud. Warning: Power off the computer and allow the memory modules to cool before handling the memory. Stay away from the metal contacts on the bottom of the memory modules. Pull the securing clips away from the memory. Lift the memory up and out of the slot. Note: Repeat steps 2 & 3 for any additional memory in the computer. Note: Memory module blanks should be installed in any empty sockets to ensure proper cooling in the computer. Storage Drive Removal Hard Disk Drive CaddyHard Disk Drive 3.5" BracketHard Disk Drive 3.5" to 2.5" Conversion Bracket Pre-removal instructions before removing the hard disk drive caddy: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the Front Bezel. Press the release button [1] on the front of the caddy to release the latch. Open the latch [2] and pull the drive out of the front of the computer. Pre-removal instructions before removing the hard disk drive 3.5" bracket: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the hard drive Caddy from the computer. Remove the four screws that secure the hard drive to the bracket. Pre-removal instructions before removing the hard disk drive 3.5" to 2.5" conversion bracket: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the hard drive caddy from the computer. Remove the five screws that secure the 2.5" hard drive to the 3.5" bracket and lift the drive out of the bracket. Remove the two screws that secure the 2.5" converter block to the 2.5" hard drive and remove the hard drive. Optical Disc Drive Removal Pre-removal instructions before removing the slim line optical disc drive: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the Top Cover and Front Bezel. Disconnect the optical drive cable from the optical drive [1], press the blue latch [2] and push the drive out the front of the chassis [3]. Expansion Card Removal Pre-removal instructions before removing the expansion cards: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the Top Cover and Air Shroud if it is getting in your way. Lift the expansion card latch out of the slot [1], check for any card catches and pull the card until it disengages from the riser slot [2]. Note: Some expansion cards require extra power to run correctly. This is usually with an extra power or fan cable. Some types of graphics cards include a locking latch at the back of the card where is secured to the slot in the motherboard. Before installing or removing any full-length PCIe cards, the PCIe holder must be open. Press down on the release latch to open it [1]. Rotate the latch until it locks in place to close it. PCIe Riser Removal Pre-removal instructions before removing the PCIe risers: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets. Remove the Top Cover, Air Shroud, and any Expansion Cards. Note: Before you start, you must check if any expansion cards are installed. If so, you must remove these cards before you begin. Disconnect any cables to Riser 1, pull the expansion card latch out of the slot and pushing in on the blue locking tabs lift the riser up and out of the computer. Disconnect any cables to Riser 2, pull the expansion card latch out of the slot and loosen the four screws [1 and 2] securing the riser to the chassis, press the release tab [3] and lift the riser up and out of the computer [4]. Disconnect any cables to Riser 3, pull the expansion card latch [1], loosen the thumbscrew [2] that secures the riser to the chassis, and lift the riser up and out of the slot in the motherboard [3].
