Symptoms

After downloading nVidia or Intel Graphics Driver from Dell Support Website, the Dell system may not be able to install it correctly. nVidia Graphics Driver installation fails as shown in Figure 1. Cause

All new Direct Current-Compliant (DC-Compliant) Driver mechanisms are different with the Legacy Driver format. If Windows 10 RS5 Operating System is updated, it causes this issue.

Resolution

Effective from August 2018: Using the Legacy Driver may only update using Windows Updates only.Using the DC-Compliant Driver may be available from Dell Support Website after August Block, FY19.To install DC-Compliant Driver from Dell Support Website, must uninstall Graphics driver from Device manager or Apps and feature first. NOTE: Existing Legacy Driver is kept available on Dell Support Website.All graphics driver promoted based on platform list above after August Block FY19 is DC-Compliant Driver. Back to Top
