This article provides information about how to solve the UEFI error when non-Dell (third-party) PCI Cards are installed in a Dell PowerEdge server of 12th generation. Issue: The System stops with UEFI Error when third-party PCI cards are installed in a Dell PowerEdge 12G server.This issue has been seen with several models of OCZ PCIe SSD cards. The server stops post with the error: A system restart is required.The system detected an exception during the UEFI preboot environment.Press ENTER on the serial console (@115200 8-N-1) for detailed info.rip **** DellBIOSBlockIoDxe.efi ****** Solution: To resolve this issue: Enter the BIOS by pressing F2> during POST.Go to the Integrated Devices page.At the bottom of this page, select .Select Boot Driver Disabled> for the slot that the card is installed in.Update BIOS and iDRAC to the latest versionsReenable slot and test. If third-party card still fails to operate, please remove card from the Server and replaced with a Dell Approved Server Card.This option may not being available if the slot contains a Dell PowerEdge RAID card.
