NOTE: When the switch is in a stack of PC6200, power off all the members except the primary and proceed with following the procedure on the primary switch. Step 1 Access the switch by using the Connect an RS-232 crossover console cable.Use these settings:Set the data rate to 9600 baud.Set the data format to 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity.Set the flow control to none. Step 2 Power cycle the switch by removing and then plugging the power cord into the power supply Step 3 Start Boot Menu. Press 2 within ten seconds after the following message displays to access the Boot menu. 1 - Start operational code.2 - Start Boot Menu. Select (1, 2): Step 4 Select Password Recovery Procedure. The Boot menu displays the following options. Select 12 and press 1 - Start operational code2 - Change baud rate3 - Retrieve event log using XMODEM4 - Load new operational code using XMODEM5 - Display operational code vital product data6 - Abort boot code update7 - Update boot code8 - Delete backup image9 - Reset the system10 - Restore configuration to factory defaults (delete config files)11 - Activate Backup Image12 - Password Recovery Procedure13 - Reformat and restore file system[Boot Menu] Switch will continue to boot Step 6 After the switch has booted you can configure a new login password.Use below commands to configure a new username and password. Ensure the configuration is saved after we configure the password. Command Syntax Command Parameters console#configure Enter configuration mode console(config)# username password level 15 From configure terminal, configure the new username, password and privilege level console(config)# exit Exit configure mode console# copy running-config startup-config Save running configuration to backup configuration
