Cannot Display Maximum Resolution with Intel Graphics Driver Version 7584 The Dell U4919DW monitor cannot display the 5120x1440 at 60 Hz (5K) resolution when using Dell notebooks with Intel HD 620 or 630 graphics. Using an HDMI, USB Type-C, or DisplayPort (DP) connection displays at 3840x1080 60 Hz resolution in extended mode. Only one LSPCON with HDCP2.2 support is supported per platform.Display resolution of 5120x2880 @ 60 Hz can be supported with 5K panels displays which have two ports. (with the graphics driver accordingly)
Solution Note: Intel has added 5K support in the Graphics driver, version 7925 and newer. The following steps can be used as a workaround in the Windows registry to force enable the 5K resolution. Download the "5K_Enable_Support_U4919DW.zip" file from the Dell Support site (Figure 1). Figure 1 Unzip the file.Double-click the file.Click yes to add the registry item to the system.Restart the system. Note: Inform the User that force enabling the 5K resolution causes another side effect issue, which is mention in the Dell U4919DW article (Common Troubleshooting Steps): Dell U4919DW Monitor Usage and Troubleshooting Guide. Horizontal stripes when watching online videos using Microsoft Movies & TV app, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Microsoft EdgeUnwanted horizontal stripes appear on the video playback window when viewing online videos on YouTube using Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge browser or watching online videos using the Movies & TV app. Change the monitor resolution to 4k 3840 x 1080 or lower. For YouTube videos, change the playback resolution to 720p or lower. Disabling the hardware acceleration in the browser option can eliminate the Horizontal lines encountered on highest resolution while looking at you tube. Back to Top
