Cause
After migrating with the Managed Migration Utility, files that are encrypted with Dell Data Protection | Personal Edition using the User Roaming key are not accessible.
Resolution
The User Roaming key is unavailable as an option, beginning with Dell Data Protection | Personal Edition v8.4.1. However, the User Roaming key may be brought forward from earlier versions of Dell Data Protection | Personal Edition that is upgraded to v8.4.1.
To work around this issue, before migrating Dell Data Protection | Personal Edition with the Managed Migration Utility (MMU), ensure that the User Roaming key is not set for either the Application Data Encryption Key or User Data Encryption Key policy.
If the User Roaming key is used:
Change the setting to either Common or User, and save the policy change.Log in as each user on the computer.Allow the encryption sweep to complete.
After encryption sweeps are completed for each user,
Run WSScan to ensure that no files are still encrypted using the User Roaming key.
Now perform the migration using the MMU utility.
