The following article provides information about a network issue seen with the MAC (Media Access Control) address pass-through on Latitude 3400/3500 notebooks when connected through a USB Type-C dongle or dock.

An issue has been identified where the MAC address pass-through feature doesn't work when attached via a USB Type-C dock or dongle on a Latitude 3400 or 3500 notebook system.
Note: This issue is sometimes reported as The MAC passthrough feature option Integrated NIC 1 is missing since BIOS 1.9.2.
The MAC Passthrough is a feature that allows the systems unique MAC address will be registered rather than that of the attached device.

Resolution
Updating to the latest BIOS version available for your computer will resolve the issue. To download and install the latest BIOS:
Warning: Dell recommends disconnecting any external devices like external hard disk drives, printers, scanners before updating the BIOS.
Warning: Dell laptops must have the battery installed and charged to at least 10% before you begin the BIOS update. Dell recommends connecting the laptop to AC power before proceeding with the update process.

Latitude 3400 Driver's Page
Latitude 3500 Driver's Page
Select the Operating System
Under Category, select BIOS
Locate the latest System BIOS (version 1.10.0 or newer)
Click Download and save the file to your computer
Open File Explorer and browse to the location where the downloaded file is saved
Double-click the BIOS setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process
Your BIOS installation will involve a system restart
