General
From the LAB Test and tgmmatrix, we found that CVR-QSFP-SFP10G is not supported in NXOS mode on N9K-C93240YC-FX2.
Symptom
From https://tmgmatrix.cisco.com/?npid=46 we can see CVR-QSFP-SFP10G is not supported in NXOS mode on N9K-C93240YC-FX2.
Got a N9K-C93240YC-FX2 switch on lab and reviewed port capabilities, this platform N9K-C93240YC-FX2 doesn't seem to support breakout or 10G on port numbers 49 and above.
But in Hardware Installation Guide Pg- 39 (attached in enclosure) we see misinformation that "you can use the speed-group10000 command to change the administrative speed to 10 Gbps. If you change the speed, you must also use a QSFP-to-SFP adapter and a supported SFP+ transceiver in each of the converted SFP+ ports"
Even on Pg- 35 (attached in enclosure) it is mentioned "When using SFP+ or SFP transceivers in a QSFP+ or QSFP28 uplink port, install a QSFP-to-SFP adapter, such as the CVR-QSFP-SFP10G adapter, in the QSFP port and then install the SFP+ or SFP transceiver. The switch automatically sets the port speed to the speed of the installed transceiver"
Also it is mentioned in Hardware Installation Guide on page 39 (attached in enclosure) that the 18 uplink ports support 40- and 100-Gigabit Ethernet using QSFP28 transceivers but in LAB we checked and found that there is 12 uplink ports only.
