Symptom
Intermittent drops in control plane AND/OR transit traffic on NCS5500/NCS54X/NCS56X platforms caused by TCAM collision
Following are examples of visible symptoms:
1)Control Protocols (LACP, LLDP, CDP, UDLD, etc.) may get forwarded across L2 bridge domains resulting in protocol flaps
2)Drop in Transit traffic as measured by various testing tools
Jericho NPU has a capability to report TCAM query failure notification to CPU via interrupts. We will enhance the NOS to enable the interrupts and report them as ASIC errors under the CLI ‘show asic-errors’.
Conditions
TCAM collision/failure caused by dual TCAM lookup for the same packet. The issue can be hit if you have an NCS5500/NCS54X/NCS56X platform with any of the below configuration/traffic streams on the network
IPv6 URPF is enabled
Injected ARP requests on BVI interface
L2 multicast/Broadcast packets
L3 control packets with Multicast MAC address
