Symptom

Catalyst 8000 Edge with C-NIM-8T installed fails to boot and reboots unexpectedly. In the logs below messages will be displayed: modified extended attributes received from iomd(slot 0 bay 1 board 0) %IOSXE_OIR-6-SOFT_RELOADSPA: SPA(C-NIM-8T) reloaded on subslot 0/1 ... UNIX-EXT-SIGNAL: Segmentation fault(11), Process = CWAN OIR Handler

Conditions

This issue was observed on Catalyst 8200 and 8300 with C-NIM-8T module present and after upgrading the software from IOSXE 17.9.x to 17.12.x or 17.13.x. The router keeps rebooting after the NIM module gets initialized.

Workaround

Remove C-NIM-8T_0_1_0 file from nvram and reload the router.
