Symptom
In a Catalyst 9600 with quad supervisors:
Flashutil process generates excessive internal trace files in /tmp/rp/trace and /crashinfo/tracelogs
files will look like:
flashutil_R0-0.16167_0.20230509173103.bin
or
flashutil_R0-0.16167_0.20230509173103.bin.gz

Further Problem Description
The excessive creation of these files can lead to scenarios where a manually or automatically generated trace archive is too large to fit into crashinfo:. If the archive is too large to fit into currently available crashinfo: space, this will lead to:
1. failure to fully create the compressed archive in flash: or bootflash:
2. leave behind an uncompressed copy of the /tracelogs/ directory in crashinfo:
3. crashinfo: is now completely full and needs manual cleaning / deletion of files
