Symptom
Attempt to upgrade FW, PRI or OEMPRI on a LM960/FN980 modem may fail when the platform has two Telit modems inserted and up.
When only one Telit modem in a platform, the FW upgrade will be successful. Hence, before initiating FW upgrade, temporarily remove or power-off second modem using 'hw subslot stop' IOS CLI command.
Also disable an IP SLA config attached to the modem being upgraded.
Conditions
The IR platform has a Telit modem needing FW upgrade.
The new modem FW must be greater than existing modem FW or else modem can be bricked.
Workaround
Before initiating FW upgrade, temporarily remove or power-off second modem using 'hw-module subslot stop' IOS CLI command.
After FW upgrade is complete, use 'hw-module subslot start' IOS CLI command to restart the other modem.
Further Problem Description
Do NOT attempt Telit FN980 modem FW upgrade on platform with IOS-XE 17.9.1 or less.
Do NOT attempt any Telit modem FW upgrade on platform with modem FW version is GREATER than current modem FW version. Same or less modem FW upgrade may brick the modem.
