Symptom
cisco-innolight QSP28 100G-ER4L-S contains a optics initilization error when powered up in corsair LC36 port 30
This issue is with Cisco-innolight only. The issue is not seen with Cisco-Fujtisu in port 31.
optics module access failure observed
Conditions
hardware insertion of optics or transceiver disable/enable in software will bring out a optics initialization error.
The interfaces for port 30 move to down/down as a result of the optics initialization error
The workaround is to OIR remove and reinsert the optics and it will power up with no Initialization error.
It could happen to any optics modules. So far the issue has been reported on 8201,8800-LC-36FH and 8111-32EH
Workaround
simulated optics removal and insertion or physical optics removal and insertion will bring optics up.
Further Problem Description
after some I2c accesses, somehow the I2c mux gets hijaked and following i2c accesses wouldn't proceed.
