Symptom
FTD once hit the issue of no disk space left, it tries to restart hmdaemon process but it's never successful even after the disk issue is resolved.
Hmdaemon process is down as checked in "pmtool status" command output.
Conditions
FTD suffering from disk full issue, causes default telegraf config file to be lost.
The file /ngfw/etc/sf/telegraf_api.conf is either not present or empty.
The following logs can be seen in /var/log/process_stderr.log:
hmdaemon[15794]: panic: runtime error: index out of range [91] with length 91
...
hmdaemon[31107]: 2022-05-12T09:44:43Z E! [telegraf] Error running agent: Error: no outputs found, did you provide a valid config file?
Workaround
Contact Cisco TAC and apply the workaround
Further Problem Description
The process never came up even when trying to restart hmdaemon processes or reboot the FTD.
