Symptom
> Following error show constantly in GUI/CLI for every encryption operation:
Mar 15 16:58:36.835: %SYS-2-PRIVCFG_ENCRYPT_FAILURE: key creation failed
> File encryption status shows as plain text:
#show parser encrypt file status
Feature: Enabled
File Format: Plain text
Encryption Version: ver1
Conditions
> 9800 operating under normal conditions
Workaround
> Manually set encryption key with:
9800(config)#key config-key password-encrypt
Further Problem Description
Logged errors does not affect client connectivity, nor AP management operations as file encryption is handled separately in another process.
